Manakau School

Manakau School is situated just off State Highway One, 12 km from Levin and 8 km from Otaki.  A full Primary School catering for learners in Years 0 to 8.

Our school is in a time of change and development.  Farmland areas which were predominant, are now being developed into lifestyle properties.  The opening of the Wellington to Pekapeka expressway has brought many new families into our region. We expect this growth to continue.  However, with the Otaki to North of Levin roading development cutting through our school zone, there is some uncertainty of the impact on our School and the wider Manakau Community.

We aim to provide learning opportunities where curiosity is fostered to enhance engagement and children are able to grow the skills needed to be actively involved members of society.

We aim to provide environments that match children's stages of development. Creating opportunities for exploration, engagement, empowerment, and excitement is our goal.

Our strategic goals for the next 3 years reflect our aspirations to ensure we are responsive to the students, whanau, and community of Manakau School.

We celebrate the historic connections to Ngati Wehiwehi and look to them to provide guidance to keep in touch with Te Ao Maori.  Developing our understanding of environmental awareness and our sharing table reflects the many primary industries in our area.
