2017 Manakau School Music
We are very lucky to have the organisational skills of Mrs Rachael Newman to coordinate our Music Academy. 100% of the children will learn to play an instrument this year and even though at times you may think the house is not big enough for your budding musician, please be encouraging as they come to grips with this new skill. To quote Billy Graham, one of the motivational speakers at the 2016 National Young Leaders Day,"Success is achieved by 10% talent and 90% hard work”. I have also found ear plugs quite useful at times.

The Big Idea for this year’s academy is;
MUSIC FOR THE BRAIN AND THE BRAIN FOR MUSIC
We strongly believe and research shows learning a musical instrument gives children opportunity to develop in so many ways.

In 2017 we will participate in the Horowhenua Schools Music Festival and we are aiming to attend our first Kapahaka Festival.
